John J. Mattey was born and raised in Maryland and attended The American University in Washington, D.C., on a swimming scholarship. He subsequently graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law in Baltimore, Maryland. He is a member of both the American and the Colorado Trial Lawyers Associations. Prior to starting his own practice, John worked for the firm of Burg & Eldredge where he practiced primarily in the area of insurance defense litigation. In addition, John has worked for GEICO Insurance Company and Colonial Insurance Company as an adjuster and litigation specialist.
